FAQs
What do I need to know before I start using KSAssistant?
Before starting with KSAssistant, all you need to know is:
- Whether you’re doing a condensed KSA or a full KSA (guidance is available from the BABCP on this)
- Whether you’ll be submitting your portfolio to a BABCP Accredited course, or whether you’ll be submitting directly to the BABCP.
That’s it! KSAssistant will take it from there, and provide you with the right guidance at the right time.
Can KSAssistant store my portfolio documents or generate my KSA checklist for me?
While KSAssistant has checklist features to help you keep track of your KSA progress, the app does not generate the checklist to submit with your portfolio, or provide a place for you to store your portfolio evidence.
This is because, generally, KSA Portfolio documents need to be submitted on BABCP or University templates (and we can’t recreate these without stealing intellectual property!)
What devices can I use KSAssistant on?
KSAssistant is a WebApp that is accessed through your web browser.
While, in theory, this means that it will work on any internet-connected device, KSAssistant has been designed for use on computers only. Using KSAssistant on other devices (phones, tablets) may result in features not working.
Can I use KSAssistant on multiple devices?
While you will be able to log in to KSAssistant on multiple devices, information (and progress) does not currently transfer between devices (this is something that we’re working to implement, but may include an increased cost for data storage).
Please be aware that KSAssistant stores its information in your browser cookies – it may be best to pick a device that does not clear browser cookies automatically (some workplace / NHS devices do this for information security purposes).
How do subscriptions work? What are the terms of use?
Currently, we charge £7 a year (that’s 58 pence a month!) for access to KSAssistant, as an auto-renewing subscription. We felt that this represented a good balance of value and flexibility, and also ensure that costs (development, hosting, etc.) were covered.
As part of the terms and conditions for using the webapp, you may not share login details with other individuals.
